Porta Potty Rental Questions, Answered
Here are 74 plain answers to the questions people ask before, during and after a porta potty rental in Chattanooga. Pick a topic, or scroll through the whole list.
Delivery and timing questions
Delivery timing comes down to 1 cutoff: order by 12 PM on a weekday for same-day delivery, or the unit goes out the next morning. Routes run 7 AM to 5 PM, the driver calls about 30 minutes ahead, and weekend event units arrive on Friday.
What is the cutoff time to get a porta potty delivered today?
The cutoff for same-day delivery is 12 PM on a weekday. Orders placed after noon go out the next morning. Same-day delivery adds a fee of $50 to $95, based on distance from our yard.
See the same-day porta potty rental page for what to have ready.
If you can't make it today, can you deliver tomorrow morning?
An order placed after the noon cutoff goes out the next morning on a weekday route. Routes start at 7 AM. The same-day fee applies only to same-day orders.
Can you tell me the exact time the driver will show up?
We do not promise an exact time, because routes are set each morning. Trucks run from 7 AM to 5 PM, and the driver calls about 30 minutes before arriving. Job sites can ask for a 2-hour window.
Can the porta potty be dropped off the morning of my Saturday event?
A Saturday-morning drop is possible on many weekends, so ask when you book. The usual plan is a Friday drop and a Monday pickup, both included in the event price. Friday delivery means the unit is ready before the morning gets busy.
Will someone pick the unit up the same evening my event ends?
Event units come back on Monday after a weekend event, not the same evening. The Friday-to-Monday window is part of the event price, so the extra days cost nothing. Close the doors and leave the path clear.
Is a unit safe if it sits at my house the night before the party?
A unit dropped on Friday can stay locked until party time. Ask for a hasp when you book, add your own padlock, and take it off when guests arrive. Placing the unit near the house instead of at the street also helps.
Can I pick up a porta potty from your yard and haul it myself?
Every rental is delivered and picked up by our own trucks and drivers. A standard unit weighs about 160 pounds empty and must ride upright and strapped down. Crews that move between sites can ask about towable units on a trailer.
What hours can I call to place an order?
Call (423) 220-8808 Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 6 PM, or Saturday from 8 AM to 2 PM. Calls are answered live in those hours. Online quote requests get a call back within 30 minutes during business hours.
Prices, fees and billing questions
Porta potty prices start at $165 to $225 for a standard unit at a weekend event, or $145 to $195 per 28-day cycle on a job site. Delivery and pickup are included in our core area. Your quote shows the unit, any fees and tax as separate lines.
What is the out-the-door price for one porta potty for a weekend?
One standard porta potty for a weekend event costs $165 to $225 before tax, with delivery and pickup included in our core area. With Hamilton County's 9.25% sales tax, that comes to about $180 to $246. See the full porta potty price guide.
How much is a porta potty for just one day?
A one-day event pays the same event price as a weekend: $165 to $225 for a standard unit. There is no separate daily rate. The price covers a Friday drop and a Monday pickup, so you get the extra days for free.
Is the quoted price per unit or for the whole order?
Prices are per unit. Two standard units for a weekend event run $330 to $450 before tax. Delivery and pickup in our core area are included, and orders of 5 or more units get a multi-unit rate.
Does the first 28-day cycle cost more than the ones after it?
Inside our core area, each 28-day cycle costs the same, $145 to $195 for a standard unit, because delivery and pickup are already included. Farther sites pay one flat trip fee, and we tell you the amount before you book.
Can you match a cheaper quote from another company?
Compare totals, not headline prices. Our quote is one itemized price with no fuel surcharge, card fee or removal fee. Ask the other company whether delivery, pickup, weekly service and tax are in their number. For 5 or more units, we offer a multi-unit rate.
Do you offer military, senior or church discounts?
Our savings come in 2 forms: a multi-unit rate on orders of 5 or more units, and tax exemption for churches, schools and nonprofits with a certificate on file. Pairing standard units with a shared hand washing station also keeps costs down.
Why do you need my address to give a price?
The address sets 2 lines of the quote. It tells us whether delivery is included or a flat trip fee applies, and whether Tennessee or Georgia sales tax applies. It also lets us check slopes, gates and truck access before delivery day.
What fees could show up on my final bill?
Only the lines on your quote: the unit, any trip fee, any same-day fee of $50 to $95, any extra service at $45 to $65 per visit, and sales tax. We never add a fuel surcharge, a card fee or a removal fee.
If I keep the unit longer than planned, does the rate go up?
Keeping a long-term unit longer simply adds more 28-day cycles at the cycle price on your quote. The rental renews on its own until you call for pickup, and billing stops the day you call.
Cleaning and servicing questions
Long-term porta potties get 1 service visit every week, and that visit is already in the 28-day price. Event units arrive clean and stocked with toilet paper and sanitizer. Extra service visits cost $45 to $65 per unit for big crews, summer heat or long events.
Is weekly cleaning part of the monthly price?
Weekly cleaning is included in every 28-day rental at no added cost. The driver pumps the tank, scrubs the seat, walls and floor, adds deodorizer and restocks the paper and sanitizer.
Can I skip weekly service on a unit that barely gets used?
Weekly service is built into every 28-day rental at $145 to $195 for a standard unit, so a lightly used unit still gets a visit. That visit keeps the tank fresh, the paper stocked and the dated tag current. Call us to talk through a low-use site.
Will my event unit get cleaned during the party?
Event units arrive clean and fully stocked, and most one-day events need nothing more. For events longer than 2 days, you can add a mid-event service visit.
Does the porta potty come with toilet paper and hand sanitizer?
Every unit arrives with toilet paper and a hand sanitizer dispenser. On long-term rentals, both are restocked at each weekly visit. Deluxe units also come with soap and paper towels at the sink.
How much does a second cleaning each week cost?
An extra service visit costs $45 to $65 per unit. We suggest twice-weekly service when 10 or more workers share a unit, or in July and August heat.
What happens on a service visit, step by step?
The driver pumps out the waste tank, scrubs the seat, walls and floor, and adds fresh blue deodorizer. Then the driver restocks toilet paper and sanitizer and dates the service tag inside the door.

Who do I call if a hand washing station leaks or runs dry?
Call (423) 220-8808. A leaking station is handled like any damaged unit, and we usually fix or replace it the same day. A full station holds about 34 gallons, enough for roughly 500 hand washes, so busy sites may need an extra service visit to refill.
Choosing a unit questions
We rent 5 kinds of units: standard porta potties, deluxe flushing units with a sink, wheelchair-accessible units, hand washing stations and restroom trailers. A standard unit covers most job sites and parties. Pick the others for guests who expect a sink, need wheelchair access, or want a real restroom.
What is inside a standard porta potty?
A standard porta potty has a seat, a urinal, a hand sanitizer dispenser, a vent and a translucent roof for daylight. The door lock shows when it is in use. The tank holds about 60 gallons, or roughly 200 uses between services. See the standard porta potty page.
What is the difference between a standard and a deluxe porta potty?
A deluxe unit adds a foot-pump flush, a sink with soap and paper towels, and a mirror. It costs $275 to $350 for an event, compared with $165 to $225 for a standard unit. Read more about the deluxe flushing porta potty.
Is a unit with a sink cheaper than a toilet plus a separate hand wash station?
For 1 toilet, the prices are close: a deluxe unit runs $275 to $350, and a standard unit plus a hand washing station runs $260 to $375. For 2 or more toilets, standard units sharing 1 station cost less than a row of deluxe units.
Is the wheelchair-accessible unit big enough to turn a wheelchair around?
The wheelchair-accessible unit has a 60-inch turning circle inside, a door opening of about 36 inches and a ground-level floor with no step. Grab bars are mounted inside. See the wheelchair-accessible porta potty page.
Can I rent just a hand washing station without a toilet?
A hand washing station rents on its own for $95 to $150 for an event, or $95 to $140 per 28-day cycle with service. It has 2 basins, foot pumps, soap and towels. Food vendors and crews often add one to an existing setup.
What sizes of restroom trailer can I rent?
We rent a 2-stall trailer for $895 to $1,450 a weekend and 3 to 4 station luxury models for $1,450 to $2,400. Each needs a garden hose and a 110-volt, 20-amp outlet within about 100 feet. See the restroom trailer rental page.
Does a porta potty come with a lock?
Every unit has a door latch with an occupied sign. For a unit in a public spot, ask for a hasp when you book so you can add a padlock and keep it closed after hours.
Do you rent a towable porta potty for a crew that moves around?
Towable units on a trailer are available for crews that move between sites and for farms. Ask when you call, and tell us how often the unit will move.
Placement and access questions
A porta potty needs a level, firm spot within about 50 feet of where the truck can park. The truck needs a path about 10 feet wide with 12 feet of clearance. Gates must be at least 48 inches wide for a standard unit. Mark the spot, and we handle the rest.
Does it cost extra to put the unit where I want it?
Placement is part of the price. The driver sets the unit level on your marked spot and faces the door the way you ask, as long as the spot is within about 50 feet of the truck over firm, fairly level ground.
Can a porta potty go on the grass in my backyard?
Grass works when it is level and firm. Soft or soggy ground is the problem, not grass itself. On wet red clay, we set the unit on plywood or gravel so it stays level and the truck can reach it.
Can you set the unit on a concrete slab instead of in the parking lot?
A concrete slab is a great spot when the truck can park within about 50 feet and the path to it is firm and fairly level. Tell us where the slab is when you book, or mark it with a cone.
How do I show the driver where the porta potty should go?
Put a cone, a flag or a ribbon on the spot. A photo texted to us helps even more. Text any gate code too, and the driver will call about 30 minutes before arriving.
Do I need permission to put a porta potty in a public park?
The park or the city sets those rules, not us. Get permission from the park office first, and ask about drop-off times and where units may sit. Then tell us the exact spot and any gate hours.
How much room does a restroom trailer need?
A 2-stall restroom trailer needs level ground about 8.5 by 16 feet, plus room for the truck to back it in. It also needs a garden hose to a spigot and a dedicated 110-volt, 20-amp outlet, each within about 100 feet. We can quote a generator if there is no power.
How close to my house can the porta potty go?
The unit can sit as close to the house as you like, as long as the spot is level, firm and within about 50 feet of the truck. Many hosts pick a spot near the patio but a few steps from doors and windows.
Events and parties questions
Plan 1 standard porta potty per 50 guests for an event of up to 4 hours, plus 1 more for every 5 units if alcohol is served. Weekend event units arrive Friday and leave Monday at no extra cost. Public events need at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit.
How many porta potties do I need for 200 guests?
For 200 guests, plan 4 units for up to 4 hours, 5 units for 5 to 6 hours, 7 units for 7 to 8 hours, or 8 units beyond 8 hours. Add 1 for every 5 units if alcohol is served. Run your numbers in the porta potty calculator.
We have a Sunday church picnic. When would the units arrive?
Units for a Sunday event go out on Friday and come back on Monday, all inside the event price. That gives you Saturday to set up around them. Churches can send a tax-exempt certificate to skip sales tax.
How far ahead should I book for Memorial Day or the Fourth of July?
Book as soon as your date is set. May through October weekends are our busiest, and holiday weekends fill first. Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before delivery, so booking early carries little risk.
Do we need a wheelchair-accessible unit for a public event?
The ADA Standards call for at least 5% of portable toilets in each group, and never fewer than 1, to be wheelchair-accessible. A public event with up to 20 units needs at least 1. The wheelchair-accessible unit page covers the pad it needs.
We are a nonprofit with a free community event. How can we keep costs down?
Send your tax-exempt certificate to skip the 9.25% Tennessee sales tax. Use standard units with a shared hand washing station instead of deluxe units. If you need 5 or more units, ask about the multi-unit rate.
Is a restroom trailer or porta potties better for a wedding?
A restroom trailer fits a wedding when the site has level ground, a garden hose and a 110-volt outlet within about 100 feet. Without those, deluxe flushing units with sinks are the next step up. See the wedding restroom rental page.
Do we need hand washing stations if food trucks are coming?
Plan 1 hand washing station for every 5 toilets when food is served, with at least 1. Set it near the toilets, and add another near the food line if the crowd is large.
Can you set units at a ballfield for a weekend tournament?
Tournament units go out Friday and come back Monday, inside the event price. For a tournament longer than 2 days, add a mid-event service visit so the units stay fresh. See the event porta potty rental page.
Construction and long-term questions
Construction porta potties cost $145 to $195 per 28-day cycle for a standard unit, with weekly service included. OSHA requires at least 1 toilet for up to 20 workers. We suggest 1 unit per 10 workers for a 40-hour week. Billing stops the day you call for pickup.
How much is a construction porta potty per month?
A standard construction porta potty costs $145 to $195 per 28-day cycle, with weekly service included. We bill every 28 days instead of by calendar month, so a year has 13 cycles. See the construction porta potty rental page.
How many porta potties does a crew of 30 need?
OSHA's minimum for 30 workers is 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal, which 1 standard unit covers. For a 40-hour week, we suggest 3 units with weekly service. Add a second weekly visit in July and August heat.
Can I get a price for a bid before I win the job?
Call with the site address, a rough start month, crew size and how long the job should run. We will give you the itemized price per 28-day cycle so you can build it into your bid.
Can a builder with several lots get one invoice?
Business accounts can be invoiced, so several units on several lots can be billed together. Orders of 5 or more units also get a multi-unit rate.
If the job wraps up early, can I end the rental?
Long-term rentals run in 28-day cycles that renew until you call for pickup. When the job wraps up, call us, and billing stops that day. Pickup is usually scheduled within 1 to 2 business days.
Our regular porta potty company didn't show up. Can you cover today?
Call by 12 PM on a weekday, and we can deliver the same day for a $50 to $95 fee. We own our trucks and units, so your order goes straight onto our route, not to another hauler.
Does a job site need a hand washing station?
OSHA 1926.51(f) calls for washing facilities when crews work with paints, coatings, herbicides or other harmful substances. A 2-basin hand washing station covers that on dry sites. Ask your safety officer if your work triggers the rule.
Homes and emergencies questions
Homeowners rent porta potties for septic backups, water shutoffs, remodels and owner-built houses. A standard unit costs $145 to $195 per 28-day cycle with weekly service. Same-day delivery is possible when you call by 12 PM on a weekday, for a $50 to $95 fee.
Our septic system backed up. How fast can we get a toilet?
Call by 12 PM on a weekday, and a standard unit can arrive the same day for a $50 to $95 same-day fee. After noon, it goes out first thing the next morning. Mark a level spot near the house before the driver calls.
The water will be shut off for a few days. What should we rent?
One standard porta potty covers most families during a short water shutoff. Call a day ahead if you can, so you skip the same-day fee. Give us the dates, and we will quote the lowest-cost option for that stretch.
We're remodeling our only bathroom. How long can we keep a unit?
Keep it as long as the remodel lasts. The rental renews every 28 days, weekly service is included, and billing stops the day you call for pickup. See the home and remodel rental page.
I'm building my own house. What will a porta potty cost for 6 months?
A standard unit costs $145 to $195 per 28-day cycle, plus tax. Six months is about 6 to 7 cycles, depending on your start and end dates. Weekly service is included in every cycle.
Can a property manager order a unit for a tenant's house?
A property manager can place the order, and a business account can be invoiced. Nobody needs to be home for delivery. Give us the spot, any gate code and a tenant contact for the driver's call.
Our office restrooms are out of order. Can we get temporary toilets?
A deluxe flushing unit with a sink works well for office overflow, because staff get a flush and running water. For a larger office, a restroom trailer may fit, if you have a hose and a 110-volt outlet nearby.
Can I keep a porta potty on my land or at a camp all summer?
A unit can stay all summer on a 28-day cycle with weekly service included. For farms and land where the unit needs to move, ask about towable units on a trailer.
Payment, changes and cancellation questions
Event rentals are paid in full at booking, and construction rentals pay the first 28-day cycle at delivery. We take cards, debit cards and checks with no card fee. Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before delivery, and a $50 trip fee applies inside 48 hours.
Do I have to pay the full amount up front?
Event rentals are paid in full at booking. Construction and long-term rentals pay the first 28-day cycle at delivery, then each cycle after that. Business accounts can be invoiced.
Which payment methods do you take?
We take credit cards, debit cards and checks, and business accounts can be invoiced. There is no card fee. See the full rental terms.
How do I cancel if rain or a change of plans hits?
Cancel for free up to 48 hours before delivery. Inside 48 hours, a $50 trip fee applies. Once the unit is delivered, the event price is earned, so call as soon as plans change.
Can I change my order after booking, like adding a sink unit?
Call us as early as you can with the change. We will tell you the new price and confirm it before anything changes on delivery day.
What does a nonprofit need to send to rent without sales tax?
Send a valid tax-exempt certificate before delivery. The exemption is applied once the certificate is on file. This works for churches, schools and other nonprofits.
Can the rental go under my company's name?
Orders can be placed under your company name, and business accounts can be invoiced. Tell us the billing contact and any purchase order number when you book.
I need my board or spouse to approve first. Can I call back?
Take the time you need. Ask for the itemized quote, share it, and call back to book. For May to October weekends, book once you have the go-ahead, because those dates fill first.
